Wanted to throw up some more stuff! So here it is!
I've been wanting to do some promotional work for music, and this piece was a chance to mess with that. It's a poster for my own album project "Synthesia", and I've decided to call the first album "Shell". Storm Thorgerson's work really inspired this piece and its ideas of isolation, attack, and power.
I got the chance to do a portrait project for class, and one of the people I chose to illustrate was Rob Swire, producer and vocalist for electronic dance act Pendulum. Their music changed my entire outlook on what art and music could be, and I'd advise anyone who is anyone to check on it. The entire dnb scene is inspiration juice.
I also did one of the portraits on Sting. I've kinda been a fan of his work since I was 13, and he's the only celebrity I really admire. Check out his Soul Cages album sometime: it's really thoughtful and mystic.
Aaaand I felt it was time to do a self-portrait as well. I did this series alongside my senior project, and several techniques I happened across here ended up going into that project. Also, check the Kitara in the hands of the figure on the right. I'm trying to put it in as many illustrations as possible, just 'cause I think it's the instrument of the future. Or something.
I did this one alongside the "Shell" illustration. They share a common keyword, "island", but I think this one uses the term more metaphorically. I call it "Aftermath".
